macro shortcut keyboard for protools / edit board by pf

a shortcut macro based edit board. Now version 2 key layout (site will slowly be adapted to show V2 info)

A shortcut macro keyboard for pro tools. !! now v2!!
Update for version 2:
With the arrival of Keyboard Shortcuts... menu in PT we changed the whole key assignment. The basic key's on the keyboard have when possible the standard PT shortcuts. This means that in a basic form the keyboard will also work when you visit a computer that does not have Keyboard Maestro installed. All you have to do is load the "pfbox" shortcut preset in the "Keyboard Shortcuts" window preset settings. In this "pfbox" preset all keyboard focussed shortcuts are removed -- so most of the normal shortcuts still exist with the CTRL modifier. But you might end up using the normal keyboard only for text input and few shortcuts...
When Keyboard Maestro is installed and the macro's are enabled the keys are "catched" and behave slightly different to bring a beter workflow. Examples can be found in the individual key pages. These will be updated in the next few weeks to contain V2 info. The keyboard V2 is only working with protools versions that have the "Keyboard Shortcuts..." menu. Availabilty status: Now testing & tweaking the macro's while editing & mixing a project on monterey with pt 2022-12. There are a few keyboards in stock. Contact me if you are in a hurry...

The pf editboard was created to obtain a more intuitive sound editing workflow. Keys are grouped by function and  ergonomic positioned. The layout is a translation of an edit board I designed for Merging Pyramix and used and tweaked for over 17 years. When I had to do dialog editing, sounddesign, ADR and mixing on protools it was time to create a protools version.

It works by using  key combinations as shortcuts that are send to "Keyboard Maestro" macros. You can adapt keys to you're own functions or macro's also change the position of the key's. Keyboard Maestro works on the Mac OS only. (A licence of Keyboard Maestro is not included). The set exist of the 124 matrix keyboard, printed color keycaps, a set of macro’s for Keyboard Maestro to use.

The keys have a maximum of 2 functions.  Normal and in combination with the shift key. Often with shift engaged the function is the opposite of the normal use. for example: “separate" and “heal” share the same key.
The keyboard uses the key combinations that are not used by Protools and the Mac OS system .
There are transparent key heads available for custom functions. 20 clear key caps are included. So you can adapt some of the key's to suit your workfow.

The keys are high quality and give a very good user “feedback”.
It is made to be a workhorse editboard.
